Our goal is help neighbors build communities of choice where families and individuals can live, do business, have access to quality educational opportunities, and play. Since 1990, Detroit LISC has invested over $200M and leveraged over $896M in Detroit.

Serving with AmeriCorps is a great way to gains experience in community development and build a network with other members and alumni. Members are eligible for an educational award to pay for school or pay down loans at the completion of their service as well as a cost of living stipend during their term (full-time members only).
LISC welcomes Maurice Jones as the new president and CEO of LISC. Jones has been chosen to serve after Michel Rubinger steps down after 17 years as CEO on September 6, 2016. For more on the the annoucement, click here.

Detroit LISC is helping Detroit Public Schools address its inventory of more than 80 surplus buildings and vacant lots with a $5 million loan fund for developers looking to repurpose properties into new anchors for high quality affordable housing, businesses and community spaces.
