LISC supports community-driven change at the local level, while focusing on city-wide redevelopment policies to support sustainable development. LISC maintains an active public policy presence at the federal, state and local levels and asks lawmakers to address systemic issues.
The objectives of LISC's national policy initiatives are established through careful collaboration with LISC’s local offices and LISC’s Public Policy Advisory Committee. These objectives revolve around the five goals of Building Sustainable Communities. LISC's holistic approach to building communities attracts policy allies from the business, social service, education, environmental, and community development sectors.
