Financial Opportunity Centers
FOCs supported by LISC Greater Cincinnati & Northern Kentucky, in partnership with United Way Greater Cincinnati, have helped more than 5,000 people regain control of their finances since 2011. You can help-- donate to Cincinnati LISC.
Financial Opportunity Centers (FOCs) in the Cincinnati and Northern Kentucky region help families stabilize their finances and build assets through financial education, access to benefits and job skills. Evidence has shown that by accessing these services together, participants are more likely to find and retain jobs, grow their net incomes and improve their credit scores.
We often share stories of individuals whose lives were changed for the better by visiting one of our FOCs: Rita eliminated her medical debt and earned her GED; Greg got help as a single parent; Robert applied his experience with zen to his finances; Brittany found a new career. Join our newsletter to get similar stories.
The local centers are supported by a three-year, $1.5 million grant from the Social Innovation Fund and matching funds from local donors. The FOCs are based on a model developed by the Annie E. Casey Foundation.
