Duluth at Work

Co-managed by Duluth Local Initiatives Support Corporation (Duluth LISC) and the City of Duluth Community Development Division, Duluth at Work strives to increase incomes of low wage workers and small business owners by 25%over 3 years.  Using a set of best practices first developed in Portland, Oregon, Duluth at Work's six non-profit partners offer comprehensive, long-term coaching, job training and support to specific client groups. An Advisory Committee (listed below) provides program oversight and important links between employers and Duluth at Work participants.

Duluth at Work is supported by an Advisory Committee that meets eight times per year. The role of  the Advisory Committee is to provide valuable insight into funding opportunities, tangible connections to employers and business owners, and ideas for tapping into the broader economic development of Duluth. Current members are Pam Kramer (Executive Director, Duluth LISC), Steve Wagner (Vice President of Workforce & Community Development, Lake Superior College), Don Hoag (Executive Director, City of Duluth Workforce Council), Keith Hamre (Director, City of Duluth Planning and Construction Services), Elissa Hanson (Area Partnership for Economic Expansion - APEX), Cheryl Dunbar (Duluth Holiday Inn & Labovitz Enterprises), Rick Ball (Executive Director, Duluth Housing & Redevelopment Authority), Paula Reed (President, United Way of Greater Duluth), Erik Torch (Grant Program Manager, Northland Foundation), Tony Cuneo (Executive Director, A.H. Zeppa Family Foundation), Steve Risacher (Carpenter’s Union) and Rebecca Radcliffe (Essentia Health System).
