Asset-Liability Mapping

The partners profiled in this section use mapping and data analysis to guide comprehensive public safety and community development planning.  Partners addressed safety challenges through an innovative and strategic integration of real estate development, problem-solving policing, foreclosure response, community organizing and offender reentry systems by offering visual representations or "maps" that reflect neighborhood challenges and opportunities.  As communities around the country seek comprehensive approaches to public safety challenges, the cases below offer instructive lessons for public, private and non-profit leaders on asset and liability mapping.
