Courts-Corrections

Many of CSI's public and private sector partners have articulated a need for greater collaboration between law enforcement, community organizations, courts and corrections agencies around issues such as reentry, youth programs, and gang violence. Managing cross-agency communication about former offenders reentering their home communities, who is receiving or in need of services, and who is at risk of re-offending is a complicated task. In addition, more communities are looking at specialized courts, alternative sentencing and restorative justice initiatives to improve the overall effectiveness of the justice system and its impact on communities. CSI is working to bridge gaps and bolster public-private partnerships in this arena. See below for examples and resources.
