Reentry-Repeat Offenders


In recent years, soaring corrections costs have put a spotlight on high recidivism rates and offender reentry. Several national organizations, including LISC, have also highlighted the challenges that families and low-income communities face when so many people return from jail or prison without adequate transitional supports. Profiled below are lessons on how community organizations can serve as local intermediaries to facilitate the successful transition of returning former offenders, and oversee safe and healthy integration of these individuals into neighborhood and community life.
